My name is Bob Kessen. I have 20 years experience as a certified personal fitness trainer and conducted over 20,000 training sessions. Throughout my career, none of my clients have been injured or required medical attention while working out with me.
I received my training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2002. NASM is recognized as a global leader in the health and fitness industry. Their teaching methods are based upon scientific research in areas of sports performance and general fitness helping people of all ages lead active healthy lives. My clients cover a wide-range of ages starting with a small group of 10 year old boys who played soccer to my oldest client, a 99 year old woman still living alone at home who needed help with her balance. I use exercise techniques developed by NASM to design custom in-home programs for beginners, men, women, seniors and athletes who live in St. Louis, Mo. I also provide in-home training for people who live in St. Charles County, Missouri. My balance exercise program help seniors reduce their risk of falls and develop core strength to prevent back problems. I help older adults enhance their balance using proven exercises designed to prevent falls as well as increasing functional strength needed to perform daily tasks and maintain independence around the house. I work with client's who have suffered minor strokes and older adults who need additional leg strength to use their walkers. I also have exercises for people who use wheelchairs due to advanced aging conditions. Exercise improves many health related issues both physical and emotional for the elderly. It is a vital component for mobility and basic activities at any age. My elderly clients exercise primarily to have a better quality of life as they grow older. I organized small group classes training teachers in the school cafeteria and taught fitness training sessions at a corporate office at the end of the work day. I provided workouts in a parking lot next to a skating rink for high school hockey players. I train spouses and couples in their homes at no additional charge for the second person. I offer online training sessions using Zoom for anyone who wants to remain safe at home without personal interaction for health reasons. I can help anyone who wants to have better overall health and fitness as well as assisting individuals who want to continue with an exercise program after completing rehabilitation therapy for surgeries or injuries. Click on the link at the top right side of this page "client comments" and read the testimonial from Harold who had three life threatening brain surgeries followed by 6 weeks in the Neuro ICU at Barnes hospital. Watch the video of him bowling after training with me. I have the expertise to help you with therapeutic exercises that will significantly reduce and eliminate chronic pain. I design sports conditioning programs for athletes in private one-on-one sessions, small group settings and at team training facilities. I have a proven fitness program that increases athletic performance, decreases injuries and facilitates recovery from injuries for anyone playing sports. I will teach you how to eliminate pain caused by sports injuries. Read the "client comments" discussing how I was able to help two athlete's, Mike and Jessica continue playing sports after being diagnosed with serious injuries that would have ended their high school playing days. Exercise is hard work for some people when first getting started. I encourage clients without using intimidation methods or raising my voice. My training personality is easy going which most of my clients enjoy. A personal trainer with an established fitness program, does not have to raise their voice to help client's achieve their goals. My training program develops lean muscle tissue which is an important component to help people lose weight and keep it off.
